Wake and can't get back to sleep

Wake and can't get back to sleep
Hi,
I've been using CPAP successfully for 8 months.  I use the Airsense 11 and nasal pillow and the Airmini when traveling.  Up until about 2 weeks ago, everything was fine and I was able to sleep great with CPAP.  Then, all of a sudden it feels like I did when I didn't have the CPAP.
I can get to sleep no problem.. but 2-3 hours later, I wake with fast heartbeat like before and can't get back to sleep at all.

Note: I have had some relationship issues lately that weigh on my mind.  But I don't think that would keep me up after initial sleep.

I just installed the SD card to capture data, so have no Oscar data to show.  I will get that data shortly.

Thoughts?

Without an Oscar chart, it is difficult for us to offer advice. I'm sure folks will chime in tomorrow once we see a chart.

RE: Wake and can't get back to sleep
Welcome to my world. My sleep completely sucks lately, and it has not relationship to my settings or machine. The problem is not the CPAP therapy, and if I find the magic solution, I'll let you know. Just know you're not alone.

Sorry to hear that.  Do these thing sometimes rectify themselves?

RE: Wake and can't get back to sleep
I hope so. I have had crappy sleep in the past, and it has resolved. Getting older has its price. Obviously I'm still on a computer before bedtime, watching TV and had some really good wine with the steak dinner tonight, so there may be a penalty on sleep quality. I don't know what you did to deserve poor sleep, but I'm doing my best to earn it.

RE: Wake and can't get back to sleep
I'm a member of this club too. Sad
My sleep is never all that great either. I can easily fall asleep, but wake up a couple times for seemingly no reason. One difference for me is that I can usually fall back asleep pretty fast. But it does take a toll!

Sometimes it does rectify itself so hang in there!

One thing that concerns me is your statement:
.... "I wake with fast heartbeat like before and can't get back to sleep at all."

Not to scare you or anything, but this should be brought to your doctor's attention.
Do you have a history of heart problems, high BP, etc.? If this is a continuous thing happening, see a cardiologist, at least to rule anything out.

It may just be something simple as tweaking your settings. Remember that the SD card must be in your Cpap while sleeping, or you will only get summary data.

RE: Wake and can't get back to sleep
Thanks for the response!  I am very healthy physically.  This would happen before I started CPAP.  Once I started CPAP, immediately, it no longer happened.  Only recently, with the waking, it happened again.  So I do think it's part of the apnea condition.  But I will ask :Smile

I did raise the lower pressure on the settings to 6 from 4.  I did wake early once to use the bathroom then went right back to sleep.  I didn't wake again until about 6.5 hours of total sleep.  Not sure it's because I was totally exhausted or because of the settings change.

I will try to upload OSCAR data.. first time with SD card.

Is there anything concerning about my charts above?

Graphs look good! Some mask movement, but didn't affect therapy.

I see you have two breaks in therapy. Were you able to get back to sleep?

As long as you feel rested, I don't see a need to change anything.
