Change your setting to 8-20, (or something narrower like 13-20, then do a test.
You should notice a difference.

If your machine is at default settings of 4-20, then it will start at 20, which may blow you away.
The mask fit on my Resmed S9 VPAP Auto.goes to my highest set pressure (I think) which is 20.6 but I have never felt it backing down until it shifted to therapeutic pressure.
