RE: Wisp users - how often do you change the pillow?
The frequency that your DME WANTS to provide them is what provides the maximum profit. Medicare came up with the 2 pillows per month because a good percentage of people found that one often didn't make it a whole month.
If your AHI starts going up or leaks increase, you can first try boiling it for 5 minutes (2.5 min. one side, then flip). I got another 3 weeks out of mine before the one side started collapsing again. If you get any tears or rough edges, then change since it will damage your nose.
I'm going back to my Wisp full time again. I tried the new Dreamwear and while it's great, the leaks have increased every night I've used it. Didn't even manage 4 hours last night.

I change my WISP cushions once a month. Since I alternate with the WISP and The NUANCE, this usually means about 15 nights per cushion.

They told me not to use Dawn soap. They said either baby shampoo or Ivory soap to wash mask.

I'd like to hear the science behind their opinion. Did they explain what is wrong with Dawn soap?

I'm interested also. I can understand the baby shampoo, as it is reputed to be very mild. I question the Ivory soap, especially for hard water areas like mine, because of the scum it leaves behind on sinks, bathtubs, and (presumably) mask cushions. I wonder if there is some ingredient in liquid hand or dish detergents which is hard on some silicone materials.
RE: Wisp users - how often do you change the pillow?
FYI, there is confusion about the Dawn soap. However, I contacted both Resmed and Respironics and all of their masks are safe to use with Dawn dishwashing detergent.
To JJJ: some manufacturers use plastics that were damaged by using Dawn dishwashing detergent. In addition, in some cases of soaking, the mask can absorb the odor of whatever you use to wash your mask parts. My brother has a Fisher&Pakel mask and hated the smell of Dawn, so when I do soaking, I use water and vinegar. He prefers the odor of pickles. I never get any odor from my masks.

I have no idea why they told me this, I am just repeating what they said.
I would guess the milder the soap the longer the mask seal might last. Just a guess.
They told me to clean mask and tubing weekly. Change water in tank daily and to only use distilled water in tank.
And that was about all the info they gave me, everything I have learned has been from the good people on this forum.
