RE: Got called in early after first sleep test.
Appointment is all done when I got there to meet with the store they had a machine ready to go for me and I asked about the ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto he said they did not have any at the moment and was really worried about just getting me started because of the 98 events per hour. They guy who helped at the store was very helpful said he uses this machine also. We went through some masks and the airfit f30i felt the best on my face out of what i was able to try I can say I am pretty excited to go to sleep tonight lol. I am renting the machine per insurance for a couple months although I think ill still have to cover most of it out of pocket since I have not hit my deductible so if needed im hoping I can goto a Vauto if needed since ill be paying anyways. Thanks so very much for all the help!

RE: Got called in early after first sleep test.
What machine would you have gotten then? My opinion anything that's not ResMed goes back. ResMed equal gold standard machines.
Correct on pAHIc referring to Central Apnea. You have some so right now you might not need an ASV. It's not definite yet either way.

RE: Got called in early after first sleep test.
If you look at the front of your machine, on the bottom right, just before the water tank, it will list the name of the machine. It's up to you, but if it were me I'd tell them you want the ResMed Aircurve 10 Vauto machine and don't want anything else. I'd tell them I'd wait until they got me the correct machine. The Vauto is more money, and they could possibly be trying to cheat you. They get paid the same for either machine. They may not want to swap the machines out later.
This is only my opinion, so consider it, then do what you think is best.
Machine: ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto
Mask: Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution

RE: Got called in early after first sleep test.
I don't think it's necessary to put up much of a stink at this time. My father was diagnosed severely severe like you a long time ago. He had an in-lab test that they stopped after less than two hours when his O2 went below 70, and they hooked him up to CPAP for the rest of the night to titrate. He has used a CPAP machine in brick mode set to 10cm H2O for decades with no issues to speak of. IF your Autoset 11 ends up not eliminating all of your trouble, THEN by all means raise hell till you get the aircurve. But the severity of apnea does not necessarily correlate to the machine needed. It is entirely possible that you have the proper machine already, and if not it's definitely better to start with that one than wait for the other!
Look, I'm an engineer, not a doctor! Please don't take my opinion as a substitute for medical advice.

RE: Got called in early after first sleep test.
Yeah they had the airsense 11 autoset ready to go and thats all they had to offer for me and I did not want to wait any longer to start my therapy so that's what I ended up with I'll give it hell to get use to and hopefully be good but if it needs to change he mad it seem like we can do that if needed.
RE: Got called in early after first sleep test.
it's a good machine don't worry too much and hopefully it's enough for you. it's working well for me at least.
