Need help understanding OSCAR results..
Hello all, I am 23 year old suffering with Sleep Apnea disorder. I am struggling to understand my results, but I am not waking up feeling very refreshed in the morning. I wake up a few times every night after three weeks and I am still very tired throughout the day. I downloaded OSCAR, but I'm not understanding very well the results. Is there anything anybody noticed?

Would you mind posting your sleep study?
Meanwhile, set EPR=1.

Welcome to Apnea Board!

First, did you have a sleep study done?  What were the results?  More importantly, did the study indicate Central Sleep Apnea?

We ask these questions, so as to determine if what we're seeing on your OSCAR chart are treatment emergent clear airway events, or your sleep study also showed these type of events.  If they are treatment emergent, then they will lessen in time as you adapt to therapy.

You can try to lower the EPR setting from 3 to 2. That may help with the CA's.

Other than that, your therapy numbers look good for just starting out.  Just keep tabs on the leaks, even though low, they are consistent throughout the night and is probably disrupting your sleep.

Note: There are links in my signature line below that can help you understand OSCAR much better.

RE: Need help understanding OSCAR results..
Hello, thanks for the response. I  unfortunately did not get to see the results of my sleep study, they said 10 AHI per hour and no central apnea detected from what I remember however. I am having some trouble with the mask where it's not leaking but it does fit a bit uncomfortable. I was thinking of switching to nasal pillows, like the P20 I hear is good.

Welcome

By law, your doctor's office must provide you with a copy of your sleep study if you request it.  Ask for it and tell them you need it right away.
I think the nasal pillows mask you want is called the P10. I too think nasal pillows are the most comfortable, plus they leak the least of the various types of masks.

You did a good job on your chart, but if you could remove the calendar we could see important information further down on the panel.  Smile
