RE: manich (Therapy Thread)
I eventually got issued an iBreeze 20A by my DME on 7/18. It has reduced my apnea events by about 30%. The last 7 days my AHI is averaging 9.6, and my Emay oximeter shows ODI.4% occurring during 30% of my sleep. It has improved the Sp02 drops, into the low 70s, that I experienced without treatment. The drops now stay between 88-93. I am scheduled for my 1st follow-up with my sleep clinic on Aug 29. Should I try and get in earlier and get a new prescription for a machine to better handle central/complex apnea or wait it out? Or does Medicare require a longer period of poor results on a CPAP before they will relent and cover a BIPAP or ASV?
Or might it be the iBreeze machine itself, instead of a CPAP, that could be giving me these poor results?
