24 hour stomach bug - how to proceed?
Hey,
So I found out about five hours ago I have this 24 hour stomach bug that’s been going around. First my kids and now I’m sick. I’ve finally had two hours of no more “stomach issues” and an hour sleep.
My question is, when someone is throwing up should they wear their cpap mask? What do you guys do?
I looked ane couldn’t find a topic about this. I apologize if there is one.

I've never had a stomach bug that made me throw up while asleep. When a stomach bug is so bad I'm throwing up, there's no way I could sleep till it's over, CPAP or not.

Yeah, I think if I was throwing up, I'd forgo the CPAP therapy for a while.

If you are able to sleep, use the CPAP. Except in individuals with extreme disability, there is arousal with nausea which allows the mask to be removed. The risk of aspiration is negligible in otherwise healthy individuals using CPAP.

Of course IF it is indeed only 24 hours duration, skipping CPAP for one night wouldn't be the end of the world. If your perception of vomiting with your mask on scares you, even if the perception is not consistent with reality, I say skip it. Perception is often more significant than reality.
