AirSense 10 Max Pressure setting

AirSense 10 Max Pressure setting
Hello. I'm looking for some help in understanding the functionality of the ResMed AirSense 10's setting for Max Pressure in the clinical menu.

I have a new machine (replacing my original Air Sense 10) and a new ResMed N20 mask. Regardless of what I do, my leak rate is pretty high (over 32 l/min). In doing some research to see what I can do to reduce this, one suggestion was, as long as my AHI was low enough (it was 2.5), to try reducing the max pressure in the clinical menu. It was by default set to 20 and since my sleep report showed a pressure of 16.3 i decided to reduce the max pressure to 14 to see if that would help.

To my surprise, the following night the report still showed the pressure at the same amount (over 16). I assumed that the max pressure setting would ensure the pressure did not go above the number I set.

I wonder what I'm missing here and am hoping someone can let me know what's going on.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

If you could post an OSCAR chart that would help.

One thing to consider is that the machine session day is noon to noon. If you used the machine at the original settings, then changed it, the report could show the highest it achieved in the original settings. OSCAR will help with finding the gremlins.

To be able to help you we need data, the data that oscar gives us.  oscar is completely free and downloaded from the top of the site.  You will need a SD card in the machine while you sleep.   Then you can download the information into oscar and you will have everything that will allow us to help you.

Without seeing the data I am guessing (I repeat GUESS) it has to do with your flow limits and we can help with that if know for sure by looking at your oscar charts.

It does not look like you chart attached. You need to go to the “attachments” section, click on “chose file”, select either a photo file to attach, then click on “add attachment” which will add it to the bottom of your post.

OSCAR reports max pressure 12 setting. And you still have high leak rate. I guess, you should alter your mask setup / straps or use a different mask that fits better.
The expert on this forum will provide further suggestions , I believe.
