So tonight, I'm gearing back up. Just wondering if anyone else temporarily forgoes the therapy cause of the heat?

Been off therapy for well over a week now.
It's been a blissful experience. It's been stupid hot here as of late. Too hot to use my CPAP. But, I do know that the heat is here to stay for a while. I can't not avoid therapy until it cools down.
So tonight, I'm gearing back up. Just wondering if anyone else temporarily forgoes the therapy cause of the heat?

I guess you all have swamp coolers? No air conditioning? What about heat makes you stop your therapy? Does the machine over heat?
What makes you say being off therapy is blissful? It would be awful for me.

We have central air, both floors, upstairs and downstairs. But, we turn it off @ night. We open the bedroom windows and I use a small oscillating fan, pointed at my side of the bed.
It's usually not humid (muggy) up here in the AZ. high country. But, we are having our monsoon season, and it's been on and off so far. We had one heck of a storm yesterday. Thunder and lightning, hail, wind driven rain, and winds up to 70 mph. We got a lot of rain, but it was only for a brief period of time. We still need more. That's what kind of befuddles me. I sleep well w/o my CPAP. And, I sleep okay with it, as long as it's not hot and stuffy in the bedroom. When I forgo a night or two, it can turn into several nights easily enough. That's a habit I'm trying to break. Anyways, I'm determined to get back on track. I'm just not sure where this Sleep Apnea Therapy and I are gonna end up at. Time will ultimately tell I suppose..............

Me? Not at all due to heat, my therapy has been on hold for 2 years while I deal with some prize winning medical IDIOTS. And recently my non-therapy has made me worse for it. Insomnia has gotten the better of my sleep schedule. 3-6 AM bedtime and 1-3 PM wakeup. Glorious exhaustion. UPMC Hanover was the worst thing to happen to my therapy ever. They are liars.
Hope Johns Hopkins gets it right or forget about ever sleeping well again.

Dave are you saying you have been off Therapy for 2 years? What in the world would cause that? Is your machine broken? What makes you need a doctor?

RE: Been off therapy for well over a week now.
Combine COPD with complex sleep apnea, a heavy emphasis on Centrals. My ASV was the right choice for Apnea alone, but the COPD added a perceived need to have timing control that I don't have now.
So yes in a way my ASV is broken; it is the wrong therapy for this combo. I need doc to help manage COPD and Apnea. I'd try to get my PCP to script it but he'd rather refer me to a specialist to handle it. 3 separate pulmonary offices can't get it right locally, so I'm going big to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
