Bilevel ASV - Resuming After Septoplaasty

RE: Update (BiLevel)
Okay. Im at 10.4, wondering suggestions. Sleep is pretty good but I notice these massive spikes of flow waves. Also I don't know if my pulse ox is just bad, but it registers 88-93 sometimes. I do have POTs, and heard low blood pressure can cause bad readings.

Here is the OSCAR data. I was wondering to adjust PS (Min/Max) or just min + max epap

RE: Update (BiLevel)
Although your EPAP max reaches 10.4, your median EPAP is 8.7, just above your minimum setting. The abnormal breathing seems to not be affected by EPAP and arises out of nowhere. In other words, what ever causes the hyperventilation is not related to a precursor respiratory event, however you are receiving nearly maximum PS before and after the event. I really don't know what that means, especially without seeing the full night. The statistics suggest a median PS of 4.0, so what we are seeing here is not typical. Your chaotic respiration is greatly improved with ASV, and I don't think manipulations of EPAP are going to change much. In fact, you would probably tolerate fixed ASV mode. I have no suggestion to improve on your very low event rate or to eradicate the brief episodes of chaotic breathing that used to be very common in your results with ST.

RE: Update (BiLevel)
I am with Sleeprider.  I don't know what exactly is causing your erratic breathing periods.  I thought maybe raising pressure might reduce it, but I was wrong.  Unless your high respiratory rate is being innapropriately flagged, then I am unsure (can you provide a 3 minute zoom of one or two of the times when your respiratory rate gets very high?  If anything is different in the ASV vs. the ST.)  That might give a clue.

I have noticed 2 possible causes of hyperventilation.  The 1st one was specific to me.  I would hypoventilate 1st, then hyperventilate to compensate.  I don't see this here.  2nd - I have seen posts here about anxiety possibly causing hyperventilation.  Do you think it could be anxiety or not?

Definitely bring this to the attention of your care providers.

RE: Update (BiLevel)
I was told that my PFT came back positive for either obstructive or restrictive lung disease, could that be it?

RE: Update (BiLevel)
The way it comes out of nowhere and resolves quickly, it seems more like a brain/nervous system glitch IMO.  I am not a Dr. and don't give medical advice though.  The Pulmonologist might have some idea as to why it is happening.  It seems like if it was obstructive/restrictive, it would be more uniform in occurrence.  I hope you can figure this out and solve it Dread.
