RE: Brand Newbie: Where to begin
My primary doc sent me home with a home sleep study kit made by Snap Diagnostics.
I had to call Snap to register when I got home with it. They wanted a credit card number for my portion, and said whatever the insurance paid or didn't pay, my max would be $250. My high deductible insurance didn't pay anything, and sure enough about a month later I got a charge for $250.
I wore it three nights, carried it back to the doctor, and got my results in about a week. AHI of 39. Diagnosis and RX.
The RX helps a lot with ordering equipment, even masks.

Wow, that's amazing. I don't even want to look at it, but I think the sleep center charged Medicare+Medigap about $3000 per night for the sleep lab times 2 nights.
Since I've already been on xPAP over 5 years, I'm sure a home study would have been just fine.
Wish I had found this forum sooner!
