Air pressure adjustments
I have been using CPAP for 2 years now and am using a full face mask the resmed F20 Airtouch , my issue is I am on my own trying to get a good pressure setting my clinic has never returned any of my 4 calls to get help , I started with a nasal mask but with my mouth falling open I lost all the air that was meant for my treatment , so I switched to a full face mask . When I increase my pressure to 13 or more my AHI goes through the roof , if I keep it down around 12 it is pretty good ,less then 5 most times . My Resmed unit is the Airsense 10 Elite my first setting was 8 , any advice on what I can do , right now I have stopped using it because I have to pull the straps so tight it hurts my ear

RE: Air pressure adjustments
If you can, post a couple Screenshots from the daily page in OSCAR. This way, we can see exactly what's going on with your therapy.

I don't see a lot of leaks on your graphs. Read through the Mask Primer for help with proper fitting. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...ask_Primer I'm finding hard to advise as you cut off a lot of statistics on the left side bar. I would like to see the Flow Limitations numbers and Leaks. If you eliminate the pie chart and calendar, then all those statistics will show. The few Obstructives are mostly from the way you are sleeping. When we see them clumped together, that is usually Positional Apnea (chin tucking). https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph...onal_Apnea Let's bring the pressure down to 12 and set EPR at 1. This may help bring down the Clear airway events, but it could also raise Flow Limitations... so we'll keep watch. Like I said, I can't see those stats, so try it for a night or two. When you repost, eliminate the pie chart and calendar. The graphs we want to see are: Events, Flow Rate, Leak Rate, Flow Limitations, and usually pressure, but yours is static, so it doesn't matter.

RE: Air pressure adjustments
Sorry to hear that they abandoned you. Makes me sad to hear this recurring theme among patients.
Could you share some screenshots of what happens around 12? Is your main complaint that the mask causes you pain or do you feel untreated with the PAP therapy too? You shouldn't need to tighten your mask that much, so I suggest reading the 'mask primer' page that Opal shared or to find a different, more befitting mask. Suboptimal masks are one of the main reasons people stop/ give up on CPAP, so keep that in mind and try hard to summon the fortitude to push through. With regards to your mouth falling open, and assuming that mask is better minus the your-mouth-falling-open part, you could try using a chinstrap or soft-cervical collar. Whatever way you slice it, just keep giving us OSCAR readouts and we'll help you steer your therapy. Good luck!

RE: Air pressure adjustments
AsThe mask I have mentioned my clinic never responded to my calls , my main issue is my mask is so tight to reduce leaks it hurts the bridge of my nose , after a few adjustments it seems to be much better. The mask I use is a full face Resmed F20 Airtouch I am thinking the head gear is the wrong size it rests right on the top of my ears where the top frame fastens. So since my last post I made the small adjustments that were recomended and here are a few charts for you people to look at the one with an hour is with my nose issue , I should mention my wife needs care as she has dementia

RE: Air pressure adjustments
Hello Opalrose , I have made the adjustment you mentioned and have 2 results , the one is short due to my mask hurting the bribge of my nose

RE: Air pressure adjustments
I guess I need to keep working on my treatment to get rid of my CA readings , I always thought it was good that CA meant clear air way no problems, so I got to figure this out , I have uploaded a couple charts and am awaiting a reply

RE: Air pressure adjustments
Couple things. Need to see some zoomed in views of the "Clear airways"
Also, this will probably help you with the software: https://youtu.be/QNfqIAzRBfA?feature=shared https://youtu.be/FMkBatUVu7s?feature=shared Also, drag the box on the left with the detailed stats so it's smaller.
RE: Air pressure adjustments
Hello Lucky7 thanks for having a look here are 2 zoomed images , I hope this is what you are looking for
