Camping using Converter

RE: Camping using Converter
My husband runs his ResMed S9 with no humidifier off our two 125 6 volt batteries in our travel trailer, using the converter shown in a previous post. We run the portable generator in the morning to recharge (and to use the coffee pot). No problems at all--he has to use an extension corn to get to the DC plug which is on my side at the foot of the bed. Had to get a better quality extension cord before it would work My CPAP, a Respironics 12 volt, runs off a battery pack that I recharge the next morning when the genny is running and we have AC power. We camped only in the summer this year and didn't need the furnace. An hour on the generator in the a.m. may not be enough for a full charge.

RE: Camping using Converter
I use a deep cycle marine battery which lasts me several days (without humidification) which I recharge when returning home with a 3 amp Battery Tender. Heavy setup but works well.

On a side note, be sure to check the disposable filter when returning from camping. I noticed my unit seemed a bit "smoky".. I washed the hose, air pillows, etc. I think the real culprit was the disposable filter which had turned gray from exposure to campfire smoke. I ran the S10 for three nights in a closed tent about 30 feet from the fire. I was surprised that much smoke was filtered out.
