[CPAP] Solvent smell coming from new Airsense 11

It’s not a plastic “scent” or any of the typical smells from a CPAP machine. This is a heavy solvent, glue-like, mechanical smell coming from inside the machine. No amount of washing helps.

Some people are more sensitive to scents than others.  I never had an odor problem with my AS 11 machine itself, but there have been times when I opened a packaged mask and/or hose I’d get a strong scent.  So I wash them before use with dish detergent and rinse extremely well and that always eliminates the problem for me.  For my routine maintenance of my water tank I wash every other morning, every detachable part I clean every Saturday morning (I have experienced pink slime with inconsistent cleaning and a bad cough), and I wipe the machine cavity and change filter monthly.  Every morning I dump left over distilled water in a dedicated glass covered cup and nuke it in the microwave usually up to 30 minutes before refilling my tank.  Occasionally I dump the water and start fresh.

Pretty sure cleaning inside the motor housing would be catastrophic,  based on my experience with my YPAP that i upended with a full humidifier... which also led to my aircuve 10 ?

Just for another opinion on cleaniing, i have used tap water for 10+  years, empty every morning, sometimes wipe my mask with a baby wipe, and wrap a paper towel around the back of my head geat to keep hair oil out... always fresh the next night. But i sleep 10 to 12 hours and since the 10 my humidifier runs dry nost nights, and i get a deposit build up... but whaterver..
