[CPAP] Why’s AirSense 10 spewing white flakes, out of the blue Left Air Exhaust?

1. What’s the official term for the blue Left Air Outlet (left photo below)?
 
Monthly, I replace filter — it remains clean and white. Daily, I clean water chamber with vinegar, then refill with distilled water.  
 
When I woke up, I saw white flakes in the water chamber (right photo). I dumped the water, again cleaned chamber, refilled with distilled water, and pushed in humidifier ― but when I turned on AirSense, I again saw these flakes in the water chamber!
 
So I pulled, and left, out the water chamber. When I turned on AirSense, I saw the Left Blue Outlet spurt out white flakes! But nothing in my bedroom changed ― last week, there weren’t these flakes!  
 
2. Why's AirSense spouting out these flakes? Where are these flakes from — inside the machine? What are these flakes — Buildup?

If you are using distilled water, then it can't be any kind of a mineral issue. I have a 10 AutoSet and we have a lot of calcium in our water. 

I never see any white flakes like you describe.   I just use tap water and no problems.

No mineral content in my distilled water. But water quality's INappurtenant, as the Left Air Outlet antecedes the water chamber.

No, it's not hard water deposits, that's the air exit from the internals of the machine, water never gets there [...] When it's running, there's a constant flow of air OUT of that opening.

No, it's not calcium deposits, because that's the air outlet from the airbox, water never gets in there, unless the OP has a tendency to spray hard water into their machine while it's off.

It is NOT hard water deposits, that part of the machine has nothing but air being blown through it, the humidifier is after that section.

My mistake from earlier. You would have to have something coming through your machine somehow. Correct, it won't be from the water or minerals. But it will have to be an issue with something airborne or a poor filter that's not doing its job.

Can't recall which forum I saw it. Someone had started using filters that had fibers or pieces of the filter material that was breaking off and traveling through the machine into the water tray. Have you changed brands of filters recently?

That would be my guess, too. Try using ResMed brand filters. These days all kinds of inferior products are making their way into our supply chains.

I get my supplies from ROTECH. When they send filters, they are the Sunset brand #CF2107-1. They are Made in the USA. They fit the ResMed S9 and AirSense 10 .

I've mentioned numerous times in the past, these filters can be reused easily enough. Just run some hot water from the tap, take a drop or two of liquid soap and gently finger massage the filter. 

Don't fold, bend, twist, or contort the filter. After the finger massage, rinse and then lay a paper towel on the counter and gently pat dry with another paper towel. Doing this will insure that most of the water is absorbed. After that, simply allow the filter to air dry completely. It won't take long at all. 

I've been doing this for over 6 years and never any issues or problems. I also keep the area that my CPAP is occupying clean as possible.
