RE: Is the AirMini worth it vs. AirSense 11
I have both the AirSense 11 (which works beautifully) and got the Airmini for travel. I hate the Airmini- it is noisy. I have tried many different versions of tubing, mufflers, masks etc. to remedy it with no success. Bottom line it's hard to sleep with the noise and my spouse can't sleep in bed with me when I have it on -- an insurmountable problem when sharing a hotel room. It's a great size to pack in a carryon but if I can't sleep with it then it's pretty worthless. I just traveled for the first time with the Airsense 11 which was easier than I thought it would be. I took it in the carrying case as an "extra" bag and no one said boo to me. No problem whatsoever putting in the overhead on my domestic flight. The carrying case has a strap so it hooks onto the wheeled suitcase pull up handle and I can still put my other bag on top of the carryon. Don't love a 3rd bag to keep track of but it is doable and very much worth it to have a great machine to sleep with when I arrive. I am traveling internationally this summer and will take the Airsense 11. Fingers crossed it will be just as easy on international flights. I have researched other travel cpaps and almost all have some complaints about noise so I am not willing to spend the the money to try a different travel cpap.
