RE: buying a CPAP from the US for use in Australia.
G'day Platypus,
Resmed's card reading software, InfoSmart is available from this board. You can use it if you want to. You will need a letter from your doctor saying you are competent enough to manage your condition & you understand what the data is about.
But every one on this forum will advise you to download "Sleepyhead" free from this site. It is better than InfoSmart but not as readily accepted by doctors. What I do to overcome this is convert the page to pdf, save it all to a memory stick and take that with me when next I visit a doctor.
I advise you to study the posts on this forum. There is a wealth of great information to be had here. Best of luck
Keep on breathin'

Since the machine is bought overseas, ResMed Australia won't allow me to use their software program to obtain detailed data about my sleep. I'm obviously not the only person with an overseas bought CPAP machine, I'm hoping someone can recommend a program I CAN use, as, though my sleep is of better quality, and I've stopped passing out in my breakfast bowl, I'm not getting as much sleep as I'd like. I don't have an appointment to see a specialist sleep physician until mid-February 2017, again due to financial constraints.
You have two options for software. You can use the open-source Sleepyhead software. Go to https://
OSCAR Official Download Page ----> CLICK HERE . to download. You can also obtain your own copy of ResScan from

Here, SleepyHead at the top of the page appears the link, the sheep is the track, has the best known software, free use, made by an Australian with a solidarity towards others priceless. Is called Sleeper, has it for Win and Mac.
Do not forget to make your donation, this keeps the Software alive

Just to clarify, InfoSmart is the Fisher & Paykel software, not Resmed. As Big Dave said, the options for Resmed machines are #SleepyHead and ResScan. Most of us use #SleepyHead as it is more user friendly.
Resmed really should examine their conscience - their restrictive trade practices would be illegal in any field except medical equipment.

The one thing we have good medical prices on in the U.S. is apparently CPAP devices. Our costs for medical services and prescription drugs can be beat just about anywhere else in the world. It all comes down to the political protection of medical pricing. In a truly free market, even complying with prescription regulation, this would not happen.

Strangely enough, pretty well all the "anywhere else in the world" countries with better prices got rid of "free markets" in medicine many years ago.

RE: buying a CPAP from the US for use in Australia.
New to Apnea machine purchasing!, I have concluded that AUS suppliers seem to be charging too much, so delighted to see this thread and join the forum. I hope this post is within the rules....
I priced a ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset for $598 USD and additional necessary bits including heated hose and filters at $60 USD which was just on $1000 AUD. I'm keen to go ahead given the local AUD Price is $1600.
However, I think there is a catch ! The US supplier notes that the included wireless connection for data transfer to the ResMed patient database only works in US, so it would be broken for me in Australia. If I go local I see that it would work with the local agent looking after the connection.
I'm wondering if anyone has had the issue with their self-imported ResMed Airsense wireless not working ?
and do I need to send my data to Resmed to have good info from the app MyAir app?
Thanks
RE: buying a CPAP from the US for use in Australia.
The US modem will not work in AUS you don’t need My Air it does not provide useful data make sure you have an SD card in the machine whilst sleeping and download and use
OSCAR for more data than you can shake a stick at

I can certainly recommend
Supplier #2, I'm in Victoria Australia and have bought my last 2 Auto Cpap machines from them, excellent to deal with and most helpful with any queries you may have. Both machines were bought from their "gently used" range and have worked perfectly since I purchased them. Big $$$ savings on what the suppliers in Oz charge.
