RE: Can I buy just the Airsense 10 Motor replacement part?
(09-22-2022, 12:13 PM)JohnReam Wrote: Original poster. Update fyi. The repair estimate for my broken Resmed 10 was for a whopping $475. No way I'm paying that much. I was initially under the impression that cost would be ~250-275. Feels like a bait-n-switch. So I "declined" the estimate. That estimate was fromhttps://cpap-repair.com aka Altra CPAP Repair, a Florida & Connecticut company, aka https://altraservice.com/.
The good news is that I'm still scheduled by my DME to receive a new Resmed 11 in a couple of weeks.
@JohnReam
Did the estimate break out labor and the cost of parts?
One way I prevent getting hosed is to ask the shop rate, the labor estimate, and the parts cost along with a description of the work. Most legitimate service organizations will provide the information without hesitation. The only contingency is if they find something else and that is a simple call to authorize the upcharge. By displaying knowledge and strength, most vendors are pretty straightforward.
Sounds like you lucked out and now have a great DIY project for the upcoming winter.

For some reason, I have a copy of the Resmed service software manual. It is basically a guide to using their service software. It has a section that shows the software has an hour reset option. In fact, it allows the technician to set the hours to whatever value they want.

Yes. He was using ResMed’s software and sent me a few screen shots of the calibration tests. I can send them to you if you are interested. I verified that it was zero hours.

Well for a $100 extra expense compared to DIY and AliExpress, this sure sounds good. I think I might have some business for Advans CPAP.
