SpO2 sensor w/ 1 second resolution?

SpO2 sensor w/ 1 second resolution?
I have been using the Wellue O2ring which seems to have a resolution of 4 seconds, i.e. it samples oxygen every 4 seconds, i.e. events are 8 seconds, 12 seconds, 16 seconds, ...

On the other hand, using the official SpO2 sensor my doctor had given me during the titration, OSCAR shows SpO2 readings for every second.

Would love to buy a device that can give me this more granular view of my SpO2 data if someone knows one?

The Resmed add-on oximeter module should be the one you would want. It will incorporate its data into your normal session data.

That one is $1k, trying to understand potential cheaper solutions... Smile

I assume the O2Ring does the lower frequency sampling to conserve battery, since it's battery is tiny. Maybe one of the devices w/bigger battery samples at higher resolution?

What is the benefit of 1 second interval O2 data?

I mean, I like data as much as the next nerd but, what does that data do for you that 4 second data can't?

(Not sass, serious question)

Your O2 levels shouldn't change that fast, thus needing any finer resolution than 4 seconds.  I was just answering your question about sampling rates, without price consideration.

All of the Contec oximeters that record record every one second. Some people don't like the original over the finger sensor, but newer versions have a different wrap around sensor. Alos the new version requires using their Windows application to read out the data before transferring it to OSCAR.

I am using an Emay EMO-80 finger tip recorder. The output has 1 sec resolution. Cost was 32$. Graphic and CSV output
Downside: I have not discovered how to integrate it with OSCAR.

All those disclosures said, this is data acquired during a sleep study. The WatchPat Spo2 graphic report seems to match the the Emay report for the same time period.
Now, about how quickly the Spo2 can change, here is the Emay graphic (with a 1 sec resolution):
