Changing Motor on AirCurve10 ASV
My Resmed AirCurve10 ASV has begun doing that death knell wheezing sound very suddenly a two nights ago and I don't feel like I'm getting the same air from it. I took it apart and cleaned everything and used an air compressor to clean out the motor as much as possible, and it's better, but the problem still persists. Thus, I've found replacement motors for Resmed 10s that look exactly like mine, but I'm wondering if they will work OK for an ASV or if they're only for regular CPAPs? Also, despite the wheezing being annoying, is it safe to use? It feels like I'm not getting enough air and I get panicky.
I need my ASV to get even half decent sleep, so I'm trying to go without it for as short as possible. Unfortunately I've had this one long enough that I've switched doctors and insurance and will probably have to start the whole process from scratch. Really should've seen this coming, but I didn't, so here I am.
The motor can be found on amazon with a simple search for resmed 10 motor replacement. I'd post a link but I can't do that yet per forum rules sorry. Thank you!
RE: Changing Motor on AirCurve10 ASV
Replacement motors for the Aircurve 10 ASV are the same as for the Airsense 10 and S9 CPAP machines and are available on Amazon, AliExpress, etc. If you can take the time to ship your machine,
Supplier #28 does a complete recondition with new motor, calibration and reset motor hours for about $200. That is the best fix. The motor you found on Amazon will work, and several threads here and Youtube videos show the motor change process.
