Cover Roll Tape - how to remove?

Cover Roll Tape - how to remove?
The BSN cover-roll tape works very well for me, keeps my mouth from opening during sleep. However, it is tough on my 76-year-old skin. Although there has not been any bleeding, it feels like a layer of skin is being removed when I remove the tape. Does anyone have a suggestion for removing while being gentle on the skin?

The above is the tape I use.  It is super easy to remove and never hurts at all.  It can be removed and placed differently, and can actually be used for several days at a time.  I like it quite well.

Thanks Deborah K. I have tried the MedVance tape and like it. The only thing is that it is more expensive than the BSN cover-roll tape. So I was hoping to save a little by using BSN, however will do so only if I find a way to remove without taking skin off. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Yeah, it is expensive, but since I can use the same piece usually for four days I guess I don't think the cost is too bad.

Clownbell, I hear you. I'm 71, and removing the cover roll tape feels like I'm peeling off a layer of skin.  I have found that applying lotion over the tape softens it and makes it easier to remove.  I've also had success using a gentle skin cleanser.  Lotion or cleanser both take longer than simply pulling the tape off, but it makes the process much less painful.  Best of luck to you.

Cavilon durable barrier cream will help protect the skin from irritation, I use a small dab to spread thinly in the area covered by the tape every night. Doesn't take much.
Peeling the tape off across the face, ie - side to side, with the other hand holding the face "tight" should help. Don't pull the tape away from the face, pull it across the face.

If you would like to use this tape, I haven't tried deborahs but I found this one sticky enough. I actually did peel my lips off with this thing it went bloody. After it recovered I went back to it and when I wake up if it is not loose, I usually stick my tongue out and lick my lips that way separating tape from my mouth by adding moisture to glue, that makes it easier to remove. Sometimes I also intentionally wet it with water and repeat the tongue process around lips until I feel it's ready to remove from lips. Takes me less than a minute
