Does anyone have a recommendation? He has severe apnea and cannot sleep without his old mask, which will be unusable in a few weeks.

Any recommendations for discontinued mask?
So my husband has been using the same mask for 23 years, the Ultra Mirage II in XL. The mask was discontinued as of March of this year, and he just ran out of nasal cushions last month and has been trying several masks. None of them have worked out for him. I thought I found one that is similar to his mask, the Mirage Activa, but just found out it’s discontinued as well (I can find some online but there’s no point having him get used to the mask just to have to go on another search). Has anyone been using the Utra Mirage and found another mask that worked for them as well? He sometimes has a beard, but currently doesn’t. He doesn’t want to use a nasal pillow as he doesn’t want anything up his nostrils ( and he has a high air pressure so it could be too much for him anyway). He tried about 4 so far, Airfit N20, Pico (this was an XL but looked very small), Fisher &Payckel Eson. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the fourth.
Does anyone have a recommendation? He has severe apnea and cannot sleep without his old mask, which will be unusable in a few weeks.

F&P has the vitera full face mask. it is generally liked.
are you saying he doesn't want a ff as well as the pillows? there are a lot of nasal masks out, but none that i see like the old mirage line.

RE: Any recommendations for discontinued mask?
Nancy, nasal pillow masks are very light, quiet and provide a very good seal for most people even at high pressure. I use bilevel in the range of 13/9 to 18/14 (inhale exhale) with a Resmed Airfit P10. I have used this since 2015 when it was released. It might be worth a try. As an additional benefit, you won't hear it and it won't blow air on you.

RE: Any recommendations for discontinued mask?
Thanks for the prompt response. The Airfit P10 was the 4th mask he tried that I couldn’t think of! I think the headgear on that one was problematic. It wouldn’t stay on his head (I believe the straps couldn’t be attached securely, but to be honest, I’m getting all the masks confused with each other) and he also said he didn’t like having anything in his nostrils. He does not want a full face mask either. My nights for the last few weeks have not been peaceful as he either doesn’t get a seal or his headgear comes apart. I’m desperate to find something he’ll be happy with.
RE: Any recommendations for discontinued mask?
why is his current mask going to be unusable in a couple weeks? you can still find cushions for it, if you search.
i used the mirage micro for years, and still have one for a backup (along with a couple sealed cushions). i've decided on the resmed n30i, which is a nasak mask. the headgear is quite comfortable for how unobtrusive it is. that's just a suggestion. the cusion has two large holes for air, instead of pillows. RE: Any recommendations for discontinued mask?
Check other suppliers for your mask. Being discontinued does not mean all the masks in the system go away. I seems like its been a couple years since my Resmed quatro fx was marked as discontinued. i still get them every 3 months, no problem,

RE: Any recommendations for discontinued mask?
Thanks for the recommendation for the n30i. I will check that one out. Believe it or not, after an extensive search on all the major Cpap supply stores, Amazon, as well as the local medical supply company that my husband gets his equipment from, there are no more nasal cushions in his size. They only have odd sizes, like shallow.

RE: Any recommendations for discontinued mask?
I would call the manufacturer of his current mask and ask about old stock and/or get their recommendations for a similar mask.

RE: Any recommendations for discontinued mask?
You may find one on ebay (or find it in separate parts). Check once a week for awhile and it may turn up.

RE: Any recommendations for discontinued mask?
Thank you so much! I found 4 XL nasal cushions on eBay at a reasonable price. Of course, this just delays the inevitable since eventually this supply will dry up, but gives my husband a little wiggle room. Also, his mask is Resmed Mirage Micro, not Ultra Mirage. Not sure how I got those mixed up. Anyway, they are both discontinued.
