Dreamwear porting and rebreathing
It’s been a few years of Resmed only, f20, n20, f30 and 40. When I first started my ASV back in 2017 I noticed dreamwear (nasal, full face pillows) all made me wake up about 90 minutes after falling asleep dizzy. I mean really out of it. I always chalked it up to being new, panicking, etc.
My pressures have remained constant for about 5 years, ahi is always <1, basically no leaks. So after all these years I tried my old dreamware setup with the f40 style full face mask, the one that goes under the nose but over the mouth. It’s my favorite by far comfortably, I like it better than the f30 and f40, it keeps my nose open without pinching. Same deal, about 90-120 minutes later, I woke up, dizzy and out of it. Hasn’t happened in years. I’m very attuned to myself. I’m all but convinced there’s not enough porting / exhale flow for me, and I’m dealing with rebreathing. Never on resmed stuff which is “louder”, I can assume more air is porting. Any thoughts?
