Home Depot sells bed risers. They go by the name of 2x4's in the trade.

Yes, on the 2x4's or 4x4's. I bet someone has bits and pieces they'll be glad to get rid of, OR you can buy a super cheap messed-up piece or partial pieces at HD or your local lumber yard and have them cut it for you.
My bed has legs, so the pieces just go under the legs. It also has 3 legs on each side. I have lumber under 4 legs, none on the end. At the head, a 2x4 and 4x4. In the middle, 2 2x4. Check what kind of nether parts your bed has. Don't make the bits too short, 'cos the bed is gonna jiggle around a bit, and you don't want the legs to fall off your little stacks of lumber. Yep, this has happened to me, 'cos I occasionally stub my toe on them, and they get out of position; now I check them whenever I change the sheets. Alternately, my doc told me to use bricks. I put a piece of cardboard under my little lumber piles, so I don't wreck my new floors with abrasion. Definitely if you use bricks. Keep in mind, a slanted bed takes a little getting used to. Positives: when your bed is jacked up like that, you have extra room for storage underneath.

@deborahk I believe 4" risers wouldn't do the trick for GERD unless you have a very short bed. My doc told me 6" or 8". For a king and maybe a queen, I'd go for 8". 8" is too much for a full. 6" works great for that.
I don't trust the risers, either. There's a risk the bed would fall off of them, because they aren't very large. And, yes, the bed will look wacko at first.
