Does SleepyHead work with Resmed respirators
Hi! I've been following this forum from time to time. Now I have a question, so I decided to join. I've been using a Resmed 10 Autoset with Sleepyhead for a couple years now. I also begun to use a Contec CMS 50 I, since I continue to have brain fog. My night SpO2 was found to be at lowest 86% even with at best 0,0 AHI results with my APAP treatment. I'm now waiting to see my asthma/lung specialist. I've seen my neurologist/sleep specialist. It appears I may have to start using extra oxygen at night. That seems to mean starting to use a Resmed with ventilator capability as the use of oxygen may cause central sleep apnea, which I don't normally have. I've seen form this forum, that SleepyHead works with ResMed bi-paps. My question is: Does Sleepyhead work with ResMed
respirators also? I found VPAP questions, but not about this. TallennaTallenna

RE: Does SleepyHead work with Resmed respirators
NoRestforWicked,
I used Sleepyhead recently to get the data from my Aircurve 10 ASV. It's an adaptive servo ventilator. I also know that it works with the BiPAP Vauto machines. I assume that you are referring to ventilator as in adaptive servo ventilator or ASV. If my assumption is correct, then yes Sleepyhead will work.

RE: Does SleepyHead work with Resmed respirators
I was thinking about the Lumis -series. I don't yet know which machine I'm going to need, only that I'm probably going to need oxygen unless some other solution is found. From your answers and a quick look through related topics again, I gathered the answer to be yes, no matter which Resmed comes to question. Thanks for your advise! I'll probably have more to ask later. The SleepyHead has been very helpful along with the Contec CMS 50 I SpO2 meter, Beddit and Emfit QS apps following the results of my treatment. The only thing needed would be an EEG, but I've only found ones with 3 electrodes to the forehead like in surgery and none of them seem work with a mask. Plus I know that even the Sleep Polygraphy results have to be analyzed by an expert, as programs are not as good. I really look forward of getting rid of my brain fog. As an extra hurdle I have a lot of tobacco smoke coming to my apartment through the ventilation system from outside, which I've I've had to deal with my housing company and local health authority.

RE: Does SleepyHead work with Resmed respirators
PS. I should mention that I suffer from a severe PLMS (Periodic Lim Movements during Sleep, at worst like powerful cramps) as well, for which I have a strong medication, as well as allergies and asthma. Along with some other health problems it has taken me over 20 years of restless sleep and fighting with the medical profession and being mostly very tired indeed to get where I'm now. It just seems that something new comes along every time I seem to get ahead. Anyway, you have to play with the cards dealt for you, and it has been a journey of it's own kind, though not the one I would have chosen had been able to choose.

I am not sure sleepyhead works for the lumis range of machines if you get one of those your stuck with resscan

RE: Does SleepyHead work with Resmed respirators
I'm pretty certain the Lumis range is exactly the same as what's sold in America as Aircurve. The range includes models equivalent to each of the Aircurves. I'm also pretty certain that they will all work with SleepyHead. If that fails, they will definitely work with ResScan.

RE: Does SleepyHead work with Resmed respirators
Thanks for your answer. I hope to find an alternative I can use SleepyHead with. My neurologist thinks central sleep apnea is a risk with oxygen use, but it seems people use oxygen with the Resmed 10 Autoset I have now, too.

RE: Does SleepyHead work with Resmed respirators
Thanks for the info. Just e-mailed both my neurologist and and a medical equipment specialist in my sleep center for an appointment to discuss my options. I'm also consulting my lung/astma specialist about the matter. At least in my country while you may be able to order medical equipment from abroad in the net, getting the state or county to take part in the cost and sometimes even to buy stuff or get it in the country, you need a medical professionals say so. I appreciate all advise I can get to have an idea where I'm going and to be able to ask the right questions to the medical professionals. Thanks again to all, who answered my question. Joining the forum has paid off with the first try.
