Hoping someone will be able to give me some advice. I am new to the forum, but I have been using my CPAP for the past 5 years.
I think my current machine may be done in. It has going strong for some time, but about a month ago, it started to have a hard time to start therapy. It would recycle a few times before actually starting up. This was annoying but bearable. It would perform just fine once it had started.
Unfortunately now it never starts up.
It is a PR System One REMstar BiPAP Pro 650 with Bi-flex. An older unit now, but it had been meeting my needs.
Once go into therapy, it will go into a continuous recycle (turns off/on) loop. It will show the logo, software version (v2.50), pressure, fan will start for a second, turn off, then back to the logo, repeat...) I can break that loop by tapping the wheel-button a couple times. That will drop back into the main menu. But if I try to start therapy, it will go back into the recycle loop.
I do not have auto-start enabled. I've disconnected the humidifier.
Thought maybe it had some gunk in it, so I did take it apart/clean it out. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. But it still has the same issue.
If anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated.
In meantime, I think I will try and get a backup unit (should have done awhile back). Sleeping without it has been hard. Will probably pay for an inexpensive unit out of pocket to get it quicker (maybe the Respironics dx500t11 of Amazon), while working through doc/ins to get a comparable unit. I am sure will have to do another sleep study as it has been 5 years since my last.
Thanks!
