What is the difference between the "F" and "I" models of the CMS-50 wrist recording oximeter?? Any advice which is the best to buy? Want to track oxygen absorption over night.[/size]

The "I" model can store up to 15 recorded sessions and records pulse, SpO2, and Perfusion Index data. The "F" model stores 1 session and only records pulse and SpO2 data. Both record the time and date of the recording. Each time you start and then stop the recording on either device counts as a session.

In simple terms as I understand it, the Perfusion Index is a mathematic calculation that can be based on pulseox readings. The resulting PI index number gives medical personnel an indication of the strength of a patient's pulse. The strength of a patient's pulse is carefully monitored for very sick or critical patients. The PI Index is apparently also monitored for patients undergoing surgery as part of the application of anaesthesia to be sure it is working properly. This is my reading of some online research on the topic as I too was curious why my Contec CMS 50I included those PI numbers.

Sgearhardt has it right. I used the F for 3 years and am now using the I. Very reliable equipment and easy to use.
