FOT (Forced Oscillation Technique) waking me up repeatedly

It sounds like Reznick is saying in S mode, there isn't CA detection, hence no FOT. Are you using S mode or VAUTO?

RE: FOT (Forced Oscillation Technique) waking me up repeatedly
I never tried it without Easy Breath. Here's what the manual say's: "Central sleep apnea detection is available in VAuto, CPAP and S modes (when Easy-Breathe is
enabled) on AirCurve 10 VAuto and AirCurve 10 S devices.
The AirCurve 10 has central sleep apnea (CSA) detection. The Summary and Detailed Data of these
parameters are available to view on ResMed's patient compliance software (data availability
depends on device mode and parameter measured).
The device detects both obstructive and central sleep apneas (CSA). CSA detection uses the Forced
Oscillation Technique (FOT) to determine the state of the patient’s airway during an apnea. When an
apnea has been detected, small oscillations in pressure (1 cm H2O peak-to-peak at 4 Hz) are added
to the current device pressure. The CSA detection algorithm uses the resulting flow and pressure
(determined at the mask) to measure the airway patency."

I can confirm that Aircurve 10 in S mode with easy breath off does not use FOT. I recently read one of the previous threads and have been trying this for the last couple of nights. All of my CA events turned into UA events and it is pretty clear from the flow rate diagram that FOT is off

Do you notice an improvement in your sleep quality? I'm still dealing with multiple wake ups a night. Trying to find a machine that doesn't have FOT.

RE: FOT (Forced Oscillation Technique) waking me up repeatedly
I've done this for the last three nights. I typically wake up once per night to use the bathroom, whether this is nocturia related to my OSA or normal is hard to say. I've still been waking up once a night the last three nights so I can't really comment on whether this will help with that. It's unusual for me to dream and I've been able to recall dreams every night since I made this change. Although dream recall is a very imprecise way to estimate REM, the immediate change seems somewhat telling that it's helping. I still do not feel 100% yet though

Can  you post a screenshot to demonstrate that the FOT is not showing up?

First one is with FOT, second without FOT, and third is showing how my CA turned into UA. My events are all within normal range but Reznick in a previous thread seemed to have a very similar complaint, normal AHI but clinical symptoms that resolved by using a machine without FOT. (I can't link to it because I'm too new but the title is "Central Detection Driving Me Nuts!!" if you want to search for it

I see what you are referring to.  The flow graphs don't look typical for ca's though.

I have an AirSense Auto an had some strange machine response early on, not sure if it was FOT.

Just a SWAG but you might try changing the "Response" setting from "normal" to "soft".  Made a huge difference for me.  Don't know if this is related to "Response".

If FOT is what I think it is, I see it in the Sleepyhead graphs when the machine is testing for obstruction but I never feel it.  You can see it here, this is with the "Soft" setting.

Can you elaborate? What do typical CA flow graphs look like?
