Finally have Oscar and want to make sure I am doing CPAP right!
Hello! Former SleepHQ user here - I finally was able to purchase a personal computer and instantly downloaded OSCAR so I could rush over here and get some eyes on my CPAP metrics.
A quick recap - I was diagnosed with mild to moderate sleep apnea (14-15 AHI) in February of this year and began using my ResMed11 on 3/1/24. I've had no problems getting used to wearing / sleeping with the mask, but I am not sure I am getting the full benefits of CAPAP quite yet, as I feel I could feel more refreshed in the morning and have more energy during the day. I also suffer from vestibular issues and I am trying to determine if sleep is a factor that triggers them. I've heard that my flow limits are off, but was not sure how to even tell if that is the case.
Long way of saying - I would be extremely grateful if you could take a look at my OSCAR numbers to see if anything looks off. I'm still new to CPAP therapy and want to get as much benefit out of it as possible.
Thank you so much for any help and perspective you are willing to share!

Also wanted to add some important CPAP info and a few recent daily reports
thank you!

You should increase your pressure to reduce your Hs. I suggest trying min/max=10.4/14 cm, EPR=3 full time, no ramp, and standard response.

Hello Danno220 and welcome to the forum
You had 4 hypopnea events in the last chart, which is really not a huge deal, but your pressure spikes are and your 99.5 pressure is @ 12.5cm and since you're not feeling ready to go please raise your max pressure to 14cm and set minimum pressure to 11cm. This should help you sleep more deeply. I would not raise EPR to 3 as it causes many more issues than it remediates, but if you do feel that it's difficult to exhale then EPR can help, but you will lose apnea control (and hypopnea control). You're doing very well though.

It’s great that you’re diving into your CPAP data. If you’re not feeling as refreshed, playing around with your pressure settings could definitely make a difference.

Thank you! I changed the pressure settings but forgot to put my SD card back in the CPAP

Thank you for the feedback and info! So I've had my EPR as 3 from the start and never really turned it off - do you recommend easing off slightly and reducing it by 1 over the course of a week? I had no idea EPR can cause issues! Thank you again for the info!

Thank you, this def. seems like the play! What is your typical approach when you adjust your pressure settings?

The issues EPR might cause are usually temporary until your body adjusts to the difference in the inhalation and exhalation pressures and the lower CO2 saturation, but this eventually disappears.
Every ventilator used by professionals uses some EPR function.
Another "issue" EPR can cause is improved treatment efficiency and breathing. Also, the average treatment pressure decreases, reducing the risks that might be caused by the pressure treatment. What is more, you have less aerophagia, and you feel better.
I suggest EPR=3.
