Freedom Battery not working
Hi all, I searched the forum and didn't notice anyone else posting this problem. I'd love to know if anyone has a solution.
I bought a Freedom 2 battery for my ResMed two years back. I used it as a ups and it worked fine to pass power through to the cpap. But had a first power outage a few weeks ago. The battery doesn't switch itself to powering the cpap! I had it plugged into the wall and the cpap for the two years--it showed as 100% charged. Once unplugged from the wall, it doesn't turn on. No display and will not power a cpap (or charge a phone). I've tried pressing its button. I've tried holding down the button to reset the battery. I've tried charging the battery without attaching it to a cpap.
Anyone know how to get its internal switch to work? (Unfortunately for me, I'd never tested that it would work solely as a battery and it's out of warranty now)
RE: Freedom Battery not working
A lot of these type of systems only allow for a battery recharge and not as a battery maintainer. A major brand commonly listed here (of course, I can't think of the name...) has specific instructions as to not keep it on a constant charge.

RE: Freedom Battery not working
True, Red. But they specifically say you can use it as a UPS and--supposedly--it won't deplete the battery, its circuit is designed to just pass the power through unless there's no wall current. I actually bought it for camping and then didn't take that trip. Since I saw it can also be used as a ups, I left it doing that.

The first thing that came to mind when I read your last post was, "April Fool!".
Sorry! I'm in rare form today.
