no the update doesn't work on mine i have the first one that was ever released.
i read that you get a notification on the machine and an email too but obviously i have not received anything. not sure if the email is when it's available or when it's installed.
Actually, I have the very first firmware version: 4600.03.4.1.0.
According to your to post, you have version 4600.08.6.1.0 (5 versions newer than mine).
My guess is your device was updated to the latest available [at the time] from the factory.
I understand the machine can't or won't update while in use, but...it can download the update OTA and then prompt the user that there's an update available to allow the update to be installed. At least that's how it should be done.
