RE: Wake and can't get back to sleep
Hi, Hydra
1. This would be a good time to review the basic elements of sleep hygiene to see if there is room for improvement. Also, has any other health parameter changed, such as how much exercise you are getting, your weight, or blood pressure? 2. Your pressure settings are rather low, and since you're on APAP, pressure drops to the low end of that until an event causes the machine to increase the pressure again. Now that you've adjusted to sleeping with the machine, you might try CPAP instead of APAP. Some people find continuous pressure more relaxing and effective. 3. Is your mouth dry when you wake up with the rapid heart rate? If so, perhaps mouth leaks are causing CPAP to be less effective. There's a lot of information on this site on how to prevent mouth leaks. Hopefully this is just a transient thing. At the same time, as Opal Rose suggests, you want to make sure this isn't related to high blood pressure or other conditions that may need treatment. Good luck! |
