Finger oximeter with history?

Finger oximeter with history?
Someone suggested in another thread that using a finger pulse oximeter would help me figure out if I'm getting enough oxygen when I sleep. I thought I'd try to do 1-2 nights pre-CPAP and then periodically test things out post-CPAP to see if they improve.

Can you buy an oximeter that keeps history over time? Can you buy those quickly? It looks like oximeters on Amazon are as cheap as $13, and the ones in local stores are $35 (walmart) or $50 at drugstores.

But I don't know if any of those track over time.

Most of the less expensive or chain store one's probably do not record (store) data.  If you want one that is compatible with OSCAR, and records,  the models are listed if you open the "Oximeter Import Wizard".  But they are a bit more expensive.  I use the Contec CMS50F and it was around $80 (US) from Amazon, but I use it every night to track SpO2 desaturation so it was worth the extra money.

Some of the Contec models work with OSCAR and thus of course, your oximeter data is stored in OSCAR when you import it.

You may want to check the reviews carefully for the Contec CMS50F on Amazon before buying

I thought I might buy one because I saw it mentioned earlier in this thread... but now I'm not.
I almost hit "Buy it now" before checking the reviews.

The 1 star and 2 star reviews are saying that it is not accurate.
People calibrated theirs against the Doctor's machine and did not get good matches.

Also people are saying that it stops working after a few days or a couple of weeks

Apparently the documentation also says the probe should not be used for more than 2 hours.

... just a heads up.

There are known issues with Contec oximeter screens dying relatively quickly. Don't know about accuracy, I thought some people on sleep apnea forums had confirmed that Contec oximeters were decently accurate before but not sure...

I have a CMS-50F. So far it has worked just fine.
I wear it on my ring finger to avoid the 'cut off circulation' issue.
It is as accurate as my samsung phone.
I think pulse oximeters are only going to get within 2% accuracy in the best case. I.E. A reading of 98% could be 100% or 96%.
Using 5,6 or 7 as my minimum pressure really didn't make much difference in my AHI, it did make a difference in the percent of time my SpO2 levels are below 95% and below 89%.

My CMS-50FW is uncomfortable as all hell, and yes, the documentation says it should not be worn longer than 2 hours. Your mileage my vary. I use it once or twice a month but it invariably disturbs my sleep.

Also: the wireless is useless and must be turned off before connecting to OSCAR via USB
