In the US...How long should it take???
I'm wondering how long it should take to get the machine after the prescription is delivered. I'm into the 2nd week here.

What DME are you working with? Call them and make your appointment rather than wait.

Now I'm using Lincare. I had to fire the first one. Not helpful. I called them and they are still waiting for my paperwork to transfer from the first DME, but she did say they ordered my machine.

Have your doctor resend all the paperwork and perscription to the new DME.

Well, you will have had the pleasure of working with the worst two DME companies in the U.S. Timing is unpredictable as Lincare does not seem driven on performance parameters like fast service and quality. Your best bet is to bug them daily until they get tired of it. Also, calling their corporate office in Clearwater, Florida has been observed to help. Ironically, the corporate Lincare is not BBB accredited and has numerous complaints. Hold on tor your wallet and check everything. Good luck.

RE: In the US...How long should it take???
I got a call the next day from the DME supplier to setup an appointment with the respiratory therapist to go over the features and how to use the CPAP machine. The DME supplier is part of the same clinic that my primary care physician, sleep specialist and sleep lab are part of so that might have had something to do with the over all speed of getting CPAP machine.
RE: In the US...How long should it take???
Well, Dasxo wouldn't supply the machine I wanted and Lincare said they would. But... The lady at Dasxo said they would send over the paperwork yesterday and I called Lincare today and they don't have it.... Made another call to Dasco and they said it was at a department that does that sort of thing. I'm going to have to expand my list of people to write letters to and put bad reviews on the Internet.

Some things are fixed and others are not. Not that anyone will tell you anything accurate.
Sleep study said 2 months, got in in a week report 10 days, got it the next day prescription sent the next day DME said 10-14 days depending on insurance called insurance, they called DME while I was on the phone, got my equipment that night I was always nice and asking for their help. I did not ever wait for them to call me. If they said tomorrow, I called 1 hour before they closed the day before.

I was fortunate also. Had an appointment with the sleep doc 9 days after the study. He said I should hear from the DME in a week or 10 days. Got a call the next day and 2 days later was at the DME shop and got a good fitting and explanation and took my machine home. The small-chain DME (A Turning Leaf) has given great service so far--see them again next week--I've been twice since 11 September. Hope it continues!
