@fixed it
@yankees123
Thank you for the advice! I will ask my DME for a large cushion! I was just thinking about tonight and dreading around 1am when I can't tolerate the nose pain anymore. I will use some tape tonight; it will be awesome if that does the trick! Thanks a lot

Just received my F40 from Lofta, going to give it a shot tonight

RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40
Fellow F40 users, I have been using for about 2 months now, and the last week or two I am having major leak issues again. Anyone find new tricks to make this mask not leak? I thought I figured it out with the bottom straps, but found myself with my bottom lip outside the bottom of the mask again last night. I am using a medium cushion, tried a large, but that is just wider and not longer.
Any advice? I would like to keep using the mask because it is more comfortable and can sleep on my side better than the F30. Thanks!
RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40
Since you're sleeping on your side, have you tried pulling a corner of your pillow between your shoulder and jaw? Supporting the jaw will help avoid that sag that causes the leak.

I think I know what you are saying. Any chance you have a visual picture? I switched to one pillow vs two about a week ago, because I think the second pillow was causing me to chin tuck.

I use a single medium fill down pillow, and I don't take selfies in bed.
Just find a pillow that is not so thick or plastic, and pull it over your shoulder and let your jaw rest on that. It's the best cervical collar you can have. If you hit the zone, you will know right away.

Ok I'm going to give it a try tonight. I'll report back! Thank you!

Couldn't handle the feeling of the silicone on my nostrils

What a great suggestion! I tried it last night (with an F-40 mask, to stay on-topic) and it worked great for my positional OA. Except I used a lightweight beaded airplane sleep collar instead of another pillow. Only one night so far but zero leakage and 95% pressure went down enough that I feel I can try loosening the mask slightly.
I'm new to CPAP, but F-40 mask seems to work for me, better than the F-10 they gave me from the sleep study. I did move from a medium to a large cushion F-40.
RE: Introducing the ResMed AirFit F40
Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum
I use an airfit30 size small. I also saw TheLankyLefty27's review about the airfit40 mask and I'm going to stick with my airfit30.
Sorry if this is not the right chan, but I have one of the big problems with this mask: it pinches the base of both nostrils + the slits limits my breathing even more. I have to fight to become less suffocated at the nasal level knowing that I have a big problem with my nostrils which become blocked alternately at night and that I am one of the people who cannot sleep with their mouth open.
I also have to wear swimming goggles to protect my eyes because leaks are completely prohibited for me (I suffer from severe recurrent uveitis), and I cannot wear/bear other types of mask than these hybrid facials. .
Can you recommend other types of hybrid masks that do not have this drawback? Every night I have to replace the mask countless times to reduce this problem and I even have nasal retractors to combat this pinching effect.
Thank you very much in advance, whatever your answer.
