Irritated skin around where mask seals
Hey guys I'm having a pretty rough time here. I thought I would switch to the F10 full time but while the leaks have been great I have developed red, irritated skin where the mask seals and I'm not sure what to do. I definitely don't think it's an allergic reaction of any kind, it's just somewhat dried out and red looking. Has anyone dealt with anything like this? I'm not sure I can loosen it up any more and still keep my leaks under control, though I'll give it a try. I've been meaning to start rotating it out with the nasal pillows but dangit I just sleep so well with this mask on.

In detail, what is your procedure for cleaning the mask and how often?

I am dealing with the same issue right now, due to me having my mask (quattro air) too tight - trying to chase the leaks away. I've had to switch masks and have been lightly coating the area with "HPA Lanolin" - the amazing stuff everyone suggests.
I clean my mask every couple of days with 'mask wipes'.

Clean with soap and warm water, rinse, allow to dry, about once a month. Do you reckon more frequent cleaning will help?

I used lanolin when I had the nose pillows but the idea of having it all over my face kinda grosses me out. Suppose I'll have to give it a shot.

You and me both. I am not a lotion kind of guy. But, if you want fast healing, you do what you gotta do.

I clean the seals daily and degrease my face as well.
Sometimes I'll use the lanolin since it comes off fairly easy in the morning.
If I really want to glue it down solid, there is club man moustache wax.
It's a bit more messy to get off in the morning though.

What kind of soap (type and brand)? How do you rinse it off? Did the irritation come on right after cleaning the mask?
I would try a procedure mentioned on this forum by Big_Dave for re-conditioning old mask pillows. First I would get a back-up set of mask pillows. I have not personally tried this myself.
Bring a mild solution of (1 teaspoon of baking soda to a quart of water) baking soda and water to a boil. Turn the heat off and move the pan to a cooler surface. Place the pillows in the hot solution and leave until cool. Then wash with mild soap (baby shampoo) and rinse as normal.
