Is this me just waking? Rather new to this

Question
Is this me just waking? Rather new to this
Hi guys just spent a few days only with first CPAP machine after years of snoring and scoring AHI of 22.1.  So far I think the CPAP is helping at least a bit, since I never had that much symptom to begins with.  I am looking for the first time at my data, so far from what I can read up, all the OSA that the machine detected are they really OSA or I am just natural arousal or change position?

It can take up to a year to fully experience the benefits from cpap. As it takes time to get used to it and restore the damage that was done by sleeping so badly. Those two OA's are definitely apneas. Flow rate is how you're breathing. Line moves up is inhalation, line down exhalation. So when it's flat that's when you've stopped breathing. The wiki is very helpful to learn more about everything related to CPAP and sleep apnea so definitely have a read there.

My advice to you is don't settle for good enough, the doctors don't care when your AHI is below 5 but you might notice massive improvement if you can get it down to 0-2. It takes a while to understand all the data. And there's so many different masks and solutions you can use to improve your sleep. Like positional sleep apnea, wedge pillows, cpap pillows, mouth taping, nose strips, chin straps. Along with all the regular things you can do to improve your sleep. Losing weight also has a big impact on reducing sleep apnea for a lot of people so that would also be a good place to start if you're overweight.

Your leaks seem good. So what i'd focus on is narrowing down on your ideal pressure range. A large pressure range can disturb your sleep and cause arousals. The way it works is that pressure only goes up when there's AHI's or flow limitations happening. So if you start too low you'll just suffer unnecessary apnea's in the beginning of your sleep while it's ramping up to your ideal pressure.

I'm not expert on pressure changes. But i'd try out Min:6 Max: 12. And then go from there. Goodluck on your journey! Smile

You need to increase minimum pressure to 8.0, and with that you should prevent some of the OA events we are seeing.
