Looking for flaws in my perfect scores

RE: Looking for flaws in my perfect scores
Line up your flow rate graph with your leak rate graph. It's easy to see that even low level leaks will cause sleep disruptions. Looks like a lot of mask movement, and mouth breathing.
Your graphs are a perfect example that a low AHI may not equal a good night sleep. Work on your mask leaks. Try using a different size nasal pillow. Use a one thinner, not a fluffy tall pillow that will cause your mask to shift with your movements. And, ignore MyAir! Totally useless...

RE: Looking for flaws in my perfect scores
Thank you for replying.
I have been using a nasal mask, should I try a full face instead? I was thinking I should get a full face mask because I can get pretty stuffed up sometimes. I obviously want a good night sleep, but am mostly worried about events right now, the OSCAR data is not showing many events, is that accurate, or is my leaking causing inaccuracies in that data? Also with the mouth breathing, I have been using a chin strap and mouth tape , the one lefty lanky recommended on his channel, is it possible I am still mouth breathing through that? It is still on tight when I wake up in the morning. Thank you again!

RE: Looking for flaws in my perfect scores
Sorry, I don't know why I thought that was a pillow mask. But no, there's no reason to use a full face mask. Your leaks aren't high enough to affect the machines ability to tackle apneas. But is enough throughout the night that looks to disrupt sleep.
I think your mask may just be moving or shifting as you move around. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...ask_Primer I would have to say that the 0 AHI is accurate unless you're awake most of the night. If you're tired during the day, then look at mask fit, leaks and/or flow limitation, but the FL number looks good. Do your normally have low AHI numbers? I'm just envious... I think you're doing well.

RE: Looking for flaws in my perfect scores
Thank you so much, yeah, my highest AHI was a 1.17 my first night. My AHI for the sleep study was 33.
I feel better in the morning than before using my cpap, but it isn't like a night/day difference that some have experienced. The biggest difference is I am not getting up 2-3 times a night to go to the bathroom. I do wake up to toss/turn 1-2 times a night, that is also down from before the cpap. Thanks for the link! |
