My Resent Experience:

My Resent Experience:
I've been a CPAP user 100% compliant since December 2006.  I know what mask leaks feel and sound like.  I know what dry mouth feels like.  I've had a few machines over the years.  Most recently I aquired a Resmed Airsense 11.  The pressure is auto from 10-20.  My previous machine was a Resmed Airsense 10 with pressure pre-set to 10.  I've used the Resmed Airfit Nasal mask with both machines and MyAir software reporting to the MyAir app on my Iphone both machines.  When I was still using the Airsense 10 machine with fixed pressure and same style mask, I would often achieve a score of 100%.  Since I've gone to the Airsense 11 with variable pressure, same mask, I have yet to achieve a score close to what I was achieving with the Airsense 10.  My best scores are in the 80's.  My mask leakage is registering at 5 to 10 on a scale of 0-20.  With the old machine, Airsense 10 my mask leakeage scores were often 20 (best possible) and rarely below 17.  I realize with the new machine the software is likely different and I suspect more sensitive to these leaks?  I sometimes wake with a dry mouth which is due to some mouth leakage.  I had some of that with the airsense 10 also but still rarely had such low numbers on the software.  I've actually had a few times that the leakage score was zero.  How could that happen if you were wearing the mask at all?  I've tried using mouth tape, both PapMed and Hostage.  The mouth tape sealed well but didn't seem to make a difference in my score the next morning.  I appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

RE: My Resent Experience:
There are some subtle and not so subtle differences between the 10 and 11. Without having data to reference it is a guessing game.

The current software you are using (MyAir) and the "happy face" screen on the machine is of little value to analyse things, but does provide a decent overview for general directionality. OSCAR allows us to dig deeply into every breath if needed to help figure out what is going on.

As others have said, please download and install OSCAR. There are links in my signature to the download and installation instructions. It is fairly straightforward and we are happy to help with technical support if needed. Well, those who are technical can help at least, which leaves me on the sidelines bringing coffee and donuts...

Without any further data to ponder, you could consider setting up the new machine to the same parameters as the old machine. That would be a better test to compare the two. Also double-check all the connections for leaks and also the hose (you can fill it with water to see if there is a leak or just run your hand along it whilst under pressure). Sometimes we miss the bloody obvious looking for a more complex solution.
