I know this doesnt constitute medical advice - I am just offering a comparison.
I was prescribed a fixed pressure of 8, and when I asked my DME why I was using an Autoset on fixed, and would it be possible to look at an Autoset on Auto mode, he agreed that I should try it at 6 - 16mm. Im not saying you should do this, just comparing your reading of fixed 8mm = auto 6-10 against my auto 6-16.
I have recorded days where I have capped out at 16, but my readings are pretty much never more than 2.6 or so.
