probably more of a question for a dentist but seeing I don't have the time and money to waste on one right at this minute I thought id ask here
From day one using Cpap on my trial I had a range of pain in my teeth/gums that was initially put down as getting used to the pressure of the masks, I was trying a nasal mask and right where it sat on my lip under my nose I had a bit of pain, I was happy to live with it due to how much better I felt from the cpap but after my 2 week trial was up I swapped to a nasal pillow and the pain never went away, after a few weeks it ended up getting worse, eventually the pain started in my lower teeth/gums to the point they hurt all day even though I was using a nasal pillow so I knew it wasn't related to the pressure of the mask on my face
initially we thought it might of been bruxism or teeth grinding but after trialing a few things including gaurds I wasn't grinding my teeth at all
after a month or so I actually noticed my teeth had started to spread apart a little bit, its not much and not really noticeable so im not worried about it but its something that has intrigued me, has anyone else had jaw growth/changes since starting cpap? my specialist hasn't ever seen it before
the only thing that annoys me now is that there is a slight gap between my top and bottom front teeth, not noticeable to look at but I cant use my teeth to tear open packaging for instance cause the gap is larger then normal which is kind of annoying lol, not that I was a nail biter but if I wanted to I couldn't do that anymore sort of thing
anyone seen this before? I started the exact same day as I started cpap and pain/growth stopped after a few months but I thought id ask
27 years old at the time so should be old enough to not be seeing any natural growing I would of thought, never had braces or anything, my teeth have never been awesome but they were always good, never had a filling or anything etc
