Newbie, but haven't used cpap since 2012
Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here. I've been struggling for years with many symptoms and many diagnosis. I was diagnosed with OSA in 2009 and again in 2011. I tried to be very compliant for at least 2 years. I used a resporonics Remstar m-series with a flex. I don't remember how to set anything on the machine and all my many masks that I bought are dry rotted. I went to a new sleep Dr last week and wasn't happy. He does want to send me for another sleep study, but in a lab. This is difficult for me cuz I have a sick daughter who needs constant attention. I ask him for a home study, but he said no cuz I hv other problems. He said he wanted to see me in 2 months, but upon making appointment I was told he wasn't available until May. I ask for another Dr( 10 in the group) but they wouldn't let me schedule with anyone else except a nurse practitioner.
I waited 4 months to see this Dr and he didn't seem concerned about my last sleep study although it showed moderate OSA. I'm thinking about buying a new mask and relearning how to set my old machine. It has a card reader, but I used to use it on an old operating system which I no longer have. Are there cards and readers for windows 7? My memory isn't good so all this stuff is overwhelming. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

The Philips Respironics M-Series machines are very old and outdated, however you can obtain the clinical manual to learn how to access the settings here: https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p...tup-manual This machine is capable of producing data, but we no longer have SmartCards and serial ports to access it. If you are serious about re-starting therapy, you really need to update the CPAP.

Your doctor is not helping, so you can order an inexpensive sleep study from many online suppliers. See our Supplier list and find the most affordable alternative. Many providers will help you to get a home diagnostic test and prescription for under $200. You can use the prescription to obtain a modern CPAP like the Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset. As an alternative, to this expense, you could just buy a CPAP from a private seller on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace or other seller to seller marketplace. Would you mind saying what State you are in? Maybe we can help you search for a solution.

Thank you so much for replying. I am in NJ. I'm hoping to get in with another sleep Dr with the help of my primary. I'll look into online sleep studies. Might be easier. Thank you!
