OSCAR - Open Source CPAP Analysis Reporter

RE: OSCAR - Open Source CPAP Analysis Reporter
When you say that "copyrighted" and "patent" items have been removed from Sleepy Head to port over to O.S.C.R., can you elaborate on what exactly was removed?

ords such as SleepyHead were replaced with OSCAR.   The donation feature was removed.  Exactly what was removed qt changed will be seen in the GITHub when we formally go public.

I saw mention a few pages back of compatibility with the Devilbiss product(s). If that's true, I'd be keen to use it, but I can't see how it would work with my Sleepcube, which doesn't issue reports, only a code behind which lies pretty limited info?

We do have DV54 and DV64 capability

That's great. Does it work using the magic runes off the display or do I need to buy the thingy?

I just read an SD card so I think you need the
"Thingy"

Apparently the DV64 was released to SH v1.1.0 prematurely and is not yet ready. OSCAR initially will have the same devices as SH V1.1.0. The intention is to add new devices in the future and to test OSCAR far better than SleepyHead was ever tested.

RE: OSCAR - Open Source CPAP Analysis Reporter
Here are some changes I would like to see:
  • The CPAP Statistics page is a little sparse on my screen, you could fit at least three more columns of data on there. I propose changing the intervals from 1, 7, 30, 180, 365 to 1, 3, 7, 15, 30, 60, 120, 365.
  • Alternatively or in addition, I would like a statistics column that uses an exponentially weighted moving average. Ideally I'd like to see on a whole separate screen an EWMA process control chart that tracks all the vital statistics and derived upper & lower limits. Basically I want a time series box plot and whiskers chart computed from an exponentially weighted moving average and that also shows the most current three day moving average so you can tell how the changes you make to your PAP machine impact you over time.
  • On the statistics page the Min Pressure, Max Pressure, Min EPAP, and Max EPAP statistics are effectively useless. It would be much more useful to show a computed average of the daily min and max values over time. i.g. if max pressure was 13.1 on day one and 13.3 on day two, then the historical average would be 13.2 for the max pressure.
  • You should also track the RDI, which is AHI + Hypopnea + RERA.
  • You should come up with an algorithm that computes ideal APAP min and max pressure settings. I.g. if the Starting Pressure is 9, the Average Pressure is 9.89, and the 90% Pressure is 11.16, then you can reasonably suggest to the user that having their doctor increasing the minimum pressure to 10 could potentially be helpful. Likewise, for max pressure you can compute an average of the daily max pressures and compute an upper limit of 2 standard deviations above that average as the recommended max pressure setting.
  • The compliance statistics needs tweaking, some nights I just don't get a lot of sleep and even through I logged a few hours of sleep with the machine the compliance stat says I'm 0% compliant. This is just not true by any definition... for instance, I can only recall maybe 5 nights were I forgot to use my machine, so my compliance should be above 92% for the last 70 days, but my average show in the stats says 71%.

Has OSCAR be released yet?

That is not a reasonable start pressure, OSCAR should NOT be making treatment diagnosis and why lower a maximum that the device never hits.

Not publicly.
