Please Recommend Non-Invasive Nasal Pillows

RE: Please Recommend Non-Invasive Nasal Pillows
Thanks for the info on the Brevida and Pilairo. I googled & youtubed them, and it seems they aren't really what I'm looking for, since they don't seem any less invasive than the P10.

Is there anything else along the line of the Nuance and Dreamwear? Or are those it?

My leak is also generally quite low.

I didn't know I was hearing it (the tubular noise with the Dreamwear) until I switched to the P10.  Once I heard the silence of P10, I realized all the noise I'd been coping with with the Dreamwear.  Yes, there's the exhaust sound, but I also hear the sound of the air coming down the side tubes.

Do you have the soft cloth cozy's installed on the side tubes?

No.  I worried they would cause me acne.  (I'm super prone to acne.) Do you think they would reduce my perception of the noise? I'd be willing to try them.

I'm real sensitive to that noise also, and the cloth cozy's make all the difference to me when I use this mask. I'd say it's worth a try for you.

Well hey, that's a great word of recommendation!  I will try that tonight.  Thanks!!

P.S. I already have a fan going in the room, to drown out the sound of the DreamStation.  So I'm thinking there's no risk in pulling out the Dreamwear!

RE: Please Recommend Non-Invasive Nasal Pillows
I found an online quiz to determine which mask would work best for me.

Kudos to Philips Respironics for buying the sleepapnea URL - smart peeps there. And of course their quiz only recommends their stuff. But their quiz recommended for me (in this order) Dreamwear, Nuance, Wisp, Pico, and Amara View. Very interesting.

I'm going to google further, and see if I can find a non-Philips Respironics quiz.

Edited To Add:
Bwahahahaha! I just realized those are the only masks they make. Hahahaha! So I guess they weren't trying to narrow down my options, but rather to list the order in which I'd probably prefer their masks. Good to know.

If our goal in finding a non-invasive pillow is to prevent your nostrils from enlarging (based on what you wrote in another thread), then the Brevida may be a good choice. Yes, it does intrude into your nose, but the material is completely different from the P10 and very soft - conforming to your features, not the other way around. It's worth a try, IMO.

That's one of several reasons.

Another reason is that my skin reacts to whatever the P10s are made of, and it causes the outer corners of the interior of my nostrils to be constantly peeling.  Nice people try to let me know I have a bugger... but it's just my skin peeling off.  :-/

Another reason is that when I keep my nose hair trimmed (dang, such issues with getting old!) the P10 tickles.

So yes, I'm looking for something that doesn't enter my nostril for a variety of reasons, only one of which is I believe/fear the P10 could be causing my nostrils to become larger than their already large size.

I'm not sold on the Brevida.  I really wish I could try it in person.  (My DME is 3,000 miles away.) I don't like things touching my skin - I have very sensitive skin (peeling, acne, redness, etc.) - and the Brevida seems to cover a fair amount of skin.  Plus it still seems to have things that go in the nostril.

I'm going to order the Nuance Pro for now.

And I'm trying out my Dreamwear again.  I've used it the last 2 nights, and I'm reminded of: how loud it is (I don't notice any reduction of noise with the pads), how it puts pressure on my upper teeth, and how it leaks easily when I move in my sleep (which wakes me up).

(I know I'm super sensitive.)

Hydrangea, I had issues with the Dreamwear as well but am considering trying it again as well. You may want to wait just a bit first...I understand that is works with the Nuance Pro pillows. If so, that might help with the pressure on your teeth and the leaks.

This is NOT true. The Dreamwear mask comes in TWO versions now:

1: The original version with nasal "holes" cushion. I have this, but it never sealed well

2: The NEWEST version Dreamwear with Gel Pillows. This seals well

The Gel pillows version is much better (IMO) actually seals much better, and the only difference is the Gel pillow cushion instead of the nasal hole cushion. So, if you have the Dreamwear mask with nasal holes, you can keep the mask and headgear, and just order and install just the Gel pillow from the Dreamwear Gel pillow mask to replace the nasal hole cushion pillow.
