I've been using a CPAP machine for a little more than two months following a sleep test that showed and AHI of 46.5. From day one of usage, I've had AHI almost always below 0.5 and usually below 0.3. When I started, the machine was set for recommendations from the doctor of pressure from 5-12 and EPR level 2. However, I noticed that my pressure was fairly low with a 95% under 10 most nights and moved the pressure max down to 10 and the EPR to 1. There was no change in AHI, but the pressure started to increase until it was at 10 much of the night.
I don't breathe well, both my nostrils are congested all the time despite taking several allergy medications, my right nostril is almost always blocked. I have no idea if this affects any of this and I am going to see the sleep doctor next month and may see the ENT after.
I've attached the Oscar results on flow rate plus my settings for two months ago and a few days ago. I'm just trying to figure out if there's some optimal setting given all this. I'm also wondering why the pressure level is running higher now.
The higher Flow Limitation is what drives the pressure.
Try EPR set to 3, and the minimum pressure set to 7cm.
When posting charts, include the following graphs: Events, flow rate, pressure, leak rate and flow limitation. Always include the entire left side bar.
