The saga continues. I've gone back to fixed pressure, and slowly bumped it up to 14.5. I've attached a screenshots from 1/28 after which I felt really good, and 1/29 after which I feel lousy. Here's a breakdown of the events:
The difference in events seems to be mostly more RERAs and snoring. I thought I was getting a handle on it, but now I'm not sure where to go.
It also occurs to me that I don't know if the machine is putting out the pressure it says it is, or if it is putting out that pressure consistently. I'm tempted to take an old mask and attach a pressure gauge to it.
My machine did the same thing I was very upset to say the least. Here I am first nights in and the machine kept turning off. I'd wake up and be close to suffocating. Well I was really struggling.
'They' finally said that was not suppose to happen and they replaced it. Mine failed multiple times from the get go. Here we are trying to get assistance with breathing. When in fact we were getting the exact opposite. If it were me I'd really raise a stink. Our insurance paid mucho dollars for these machines. They have an obligation to deliver machines that work.
If it kept failing on me I'd insist on them taking it back.

There is a cheaper and easier way to test the pressure. Get a 5 gallon bucket or something similar and fill it with water. Using your CPAP on the mask test, insert the air hose to the bottom of the bucket. Turn on the CPAP and start pulling the hose toward the top. When you start to see bubbles coming out of the hose, record or mark the hose at the water's top. Turn off the CPAP and measure from the hose end to the mark. Convert this length to metric, and you will have the pressure setting. For instance, you mentioned having it set to 14.5 cm. If the length measures 5-11/16" (5.6875") then the pressure would be 14.45 cm.

That makes sense, but doesn't the machine account for the vents in the mask? Therefore the pressure coming out of the hose without a mask attached to a person would be different. Or am I missing something?
Pressure is pressure (force). The mask venting would affect air volume. In air compressors, this is referred to as cubic feet per minute (CFM) and is listed at different pressures. If you exceed volume at a given pressure on a CPAP, it will be displayed as a large leak.

We are mandated to wear are masks X times per month or else we have to pay. THEY are mandated to provide machines that work. If it is turning off THEY have provided a flawed machine.

Now I'm really confused. I know the numbers don't necessarily correlate to how you feel. However, last night I had the best numbers I think I've ever had, and I feel lousy today. I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable than I can take a look at the attached screenshot, and see if you have any ideas.
seamusv I've been doing this a long time. My stories not important, but maybe I can help a little.
I don't have the skill others do to help you with OSCAR.
I've just had a rough time and it's taken a while. What gives me strength is to bring back memories of days when I felt good after a night's sleep. that's sleep quality. I do that when I feel poorly so I can start the day off right.
I've been compliant for a long time. but I've had sleep apnea for so long. If I don't get enough sleep I'm bound to feel worn out the next day.
I've been coached here not to follow the numbers. Spend more time figuring out how I feel.
Hope this helps.
