RE: ResMed S9 serial number for 905 Firmware
Hi MarkSleeps,
ResMed does not provide to users or to Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers software upgrades or firmware upgrades for products unless there would be a safety issue involved.
As long as the old software and firmware is safe and effective, ResMed would not change what software should be running on older units.
Newer software or firmware might not run in an older unit. Newer is not necessarily better. For example, perhaps a new component replaces an older component which is no longer manufactured, and the firmware or software needed a change in order to work with the new component. There would be no reason to run the new software on older units, and running the wrong software might even cause problems.
But I think you can call the ResMed customer service line and give them your blower unit's REF number and serial number, and I think they would tell you whether the software in your unit should be changed. I would expect they will (truthfully) say there's nothing wrong with it.
