Respiratory rate chart is off the chart, ideas please?????
Hi, and hoping its nothing.
My respiratory rate chart has been generally an unremarkable wave pattern at about 20 with a few spikes here and there. In the last 6 months or so it has been showing bursts of intensity with peaks in the late 50's. Not sure what that means or if its an issue. Any insight would be appreciated. My score has hit an all time low just recently and bobs around 0.2,3,4,ish. It used to be an average of 6,7 and sometimes 10,15. I decided one day to glue my boil and bite mouthguard device together at an even bite instead of an under bite, and now I can't open open my mouth and my jaw can't drop, which keeps my tongue from sliding back, and now I breath without putting but a few pins on the charts. This intensity started prior to that change but it was short bursts and random intervals at random times. Anyway, the last chart is attached. Any ideas what may be happening? Is this dream related possibly or ? I do wake up every night with a pounding heart rate of 70-80, which isn't bad, but hey I am sleeping so what with the 70-80 ?
Even uneducated guess's are helpful, someone will hit the nail on the head.

I think part of the issue is you're starving yourself for air stuck in pressure 4.
I would suggest pressure 7-12 and add EPR 3 full time. No Ramp.
We're also going to need to see standard view OSCAR charts as well.
Events
Flow Rate
Pressure
Leaks
Flow Limit
All in one shot. Left panel collapse calendar also.
See if the increased pressures and EPR helps. EPR 3 over the pressure min 7 will still be 4 like you have now.
Mask Primer
Positional Apnea
Attach OSCAR, etc.

Give me a few to get that view and post it.
Thanks for
the response !!! Let me know if you detect any other possibilities.

Made the changes and got to run for now. Thanks for the help. I will let you know what tomorrow brings. Is that the chart configuration you wanted to see?
RE: Respiratory rate chart is off the chart, ideas please?????
No, it's not the right way to post the chart. If you are using a Windows computer you can tap the fn key to show the chart. Make sure it shows the following, and only the following, in the order listed:
Event Flags
Flow Rate
Pressure
Leak Rate
Flow limits
We need to be able to read to the very bottom of the flow limits. There will also be a panel to the left of the chart. If it shows the calendar or pie chart, remove them, as we need to see useful information below.

There, that OSCAR is the format.
Try that edit if at all possible. If it feels bad, don't concern yourself too much if you have to stop in the early days. I'm not trying to set you up to quit CPAP, but we also need to keep you safe.
I myself can't read charts well enough, but maybe the numbers are erroneous doubling. I can't be certain.
I would suggest getting a recording pulse oximeter soon, and check in with the doctor also.

Thanks, I made the edit to the settings and will see if it make a difference. I have a camera aimed at my face overnight and it doesn't show what I would expect from the graph of the respiratory rate. No thrashing or gasping, etc. I do have an occasional night sweat, but otherwise just me sleeping like a log with a exhale noise every 2-3 seconds or so. You would think with the rate up at 50+ it would be a full breath a second almost. The chart bugs me since I am unconscious /sleeping when it happens. Oximeter is always up 97,98,99. Blood pressure is 117/65 at night when I wake up although that may be after the event is subsiding.
RE: Respiratory rate chart is off the chart, ideas please?????
Just my opinion, it does seem more like a reporting error within the CPAP.

One small change would make your chart more useful. On the left panel below the Statistics, there is a small square box beside Device Settings. Check that box and I think the settings will appear. That will help us a lot.
