What is the most comfortable pressure and settings if comfort is the only goal?
I am just curious. Say that someone is starting out to just get used to using the cpap mask (a nasal pillow mask). Is there any general pressure/setting that could be used if the goal is just comfort and nothing else? And even if it is a bit individual is there some range of pressure and other settings that is generally the most pleasant?

At first I was thinking setting as low a pressure as possible would be the most comfortable and least intrusive but from my understanding this can cause the feeling of lack of air if too low so lower is not necessary better?

I would imagine it's more than just a bit individual, as I've seen quite a wide range here in the forums.

For whatever it's worth I absolutely couldn't stand a pressure less than seven and EPR of less than three when I was starting out.

Less than seven pressure and I felt like I couldn't get enough air fast enough, and without the EPR I felt like I couldn't exhale well enough.

And as it turns out over time my comfortable pressure has risen to the point where I now find it distractingly difficult to sleep with a minimum pressure of less than 12, even though a minimum pressure of nine takes care of the vast majority of my apneas and results in an average AHI of right around 1.

There's not some magic number that fits all. You have to find what works for you, where you'll have therapy to treat the events and without taking comfort away. Depending on the machine you have, there's pressure settings that should work well without compromising.
