RE: Sefam CPAP AHI reporting discrepancy.
Hi Paul,
Your experience sounds very similar to mine. I was also issued a Sefam S-Box by my NHS trust after a sleep study, and they left it at default settings of 4-20 which made me feel starved of air until pressure ramped. Have a look at my first thread.
I believe the discrepancy you are seeing is that access-lite doesn't show any of the CNT stuff (Central Apneas and Central Hypopneas), I also note your data shows high leak rates as did mine.
After some mulling over I chose to self fund a Resmed Airsense 10 so I could leverage the data in Oscar and the advice available here. I have only done 1 night on the Airsense so far (last night) but first impressions are I had a much better night.
RE: Sefam CPAP AHI reporting discrepancy.
Hi bionicmunky
Thank you for your comments which along with earlier posts I found useful.
I think you are right about Access Lite only reporting Obstructive AH. I discovered a reporting feature on the app which gives a detailed report and by comparing with Analyze they are close.
I notice that the physiologist 3 monthly report seems to also report only the obstructive AH figure although it is labelled AHI. This concerns me in case they are basing treatement strategies only on Obstructive events when my central events are 3 times higher.
Please can you tell me how you were able to change the pressure settings on the cpap as apart from things like screen brightness, other settings are locked behind a password.
Best wishes Paul

Hi Dave
Thank you for taking the time to look at my figures. Your comments are helpful.
I agree baseline readings would have been helpful. I was given a cpap on the basis of my presenting problem of snoring and daytime sleepiness plus my epworth scale and an overnight oxyimetery measurement. Mild to moderate sleep apnoea, >3% oxygen desaturation index 14.9 desats/hr, >2% O2 desat index 22.9 desats/hr, mean SpO2 93.7%.
RE: Sefam CPAP AHI reporting discrepancy.
Hi Rose
I think you are right that the different software packages report on only some of the figures namely the Lite only reporting Obstructive AH. I can choose daily, weekly or monthly reports.
We do have ResMed cpap in the UK but my health are provider only uses Sefam. I am however considering buying a ResMed myself for the better reporting and comments made on this forum.
I am awaiting a polysomnograph which I hop will shed more light on things.
Best wishes Paul

I found that the hold the ramp button + the other touchscreen button detailed in the clinical manual below allowed me access without a password.
